’s Jim Parsons tied the knot with his partner of 14 years Todd Spiewak in a private ceremony over the weekend.The actor and graphic designer were married Saturday night at New York City’s Rainbow Room, Parsons’ rep confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter. The couple first appeared on a red carpet together in 2013 when Parsons received the Inspiration Award from GLSEN.star insists the two have done nothing extraordinary."If we're inspiring at all, it's that we're a very average normal just moving right along with our lives kind of people," Parsons said on the red carpet at the Beverly Hills Hotel before he and Spiewak were presented the award by the actor's costar Mayim Bialik."That doesn't feel like you could possibly be inspirational when you're going through those day-to-day motions, but I get it."Last night's event marked the first time Parsons and graphic designer Spiewak have talked publicly about their relationship and posed and did interviews together on a red carpet.Also, I believe this was a selfie with an actual camera, as our phones couldn't do that back then hahaha!For eight years, Jim Parsons has been playing uptight scientist Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory. I like to think of myself as somewhat logical and somewhat analytical like Sheldon, but I was recently talking about the fact that there's a lesson that I have to relearn again and again and again in my life, and that's to always go with your instincts, which is the heart. "I've never considered my relationship with Todd to be an act of activism.

While the actor was proud of the honor, he later acknowledged that he’d never though of his relationship with Spiewak as something revolutionary.

“I’ve never considered myself an activist,” Parsons told E! “I’ve never considered my relationship with Todd to be an act of activism.

"One of his greatest gifts to me is that he no longer takes me to sing karaoke.
